How to edit text editor area

Post by slycrespo » Wed Mar 15, 2023 1:38 pm

Hello!
I am working on an advertising joomla page. I use JomClassifieds for that. And I want to remove "the controls" of the editor and also the height of text area - Look at the attached picture. I am using Joomla3 .10.11. Please help!

I don't use JomClassified, so I'm going to assume you want a public, registered, guest, or author user level to not have so many controls, probably when submitting from the front end. I'm also assuming JomClassified is using the default editor.
From your administrator panel, go to Extensions>Plugins and look for your editor. It is probably Editor - TinyMCE if you've never changed it. Once you're in there, you can make 3 sets of users. Mine has Set 2 for Public and Registered. They get bold, underline, and lists. You can click on each button and drag it out of the tool bar. Toward the right, there are colored buttons to make it easier to get started, like simple preset. If you want public, registered, and author levels to share Set 2, then add author next to the other blue selections. You may have to remove the user from other sets.

As already suggested above, the editor in the screenshot looks like TinyMCE which has different profiles (as JCE calls them) or Sets (as TinyMCE calls them).

You can set the editor to look different for each user group.

I don't know about the height of the editing area. Assume CSS would take care of that.

The editor settings would be effective in whatever area of Joomla uses the editor. JomClassifieds specifically would be no different to anything else using the editor.

Whatever I change in the Tinymce plugin, it is not affected on the website.
