Anyway to recaptcha registration page?
Hello everyone,
I am having a ton of spam registrations on my joomla 3.10.12 site. I would like to know if there is anyway to add a captcha to the registration page to keep bots out, or anything to make it harder for them to auto register.
I do not have the core recaptcha installed on my site. Not sure if its because it was upgraded over the years or what. I had google captcha 2.0, but that went way of the dinosaur, and I can't go 4.0 yet because it also has VM installed and custom code had been done. It will take a while to make this jump until I can confirm the coding will stay in tact.
So any help for the time being would be great. TIA

Re: Anyway to recaptcha registration page?
There are extensions that can help make it harder for bots to register.
If bots have registered then adding a CAPTCHA to the login form will not achieve very much IMO. The bots that registered account may be trojan horses awaiting the approval of the accounts that they create and then the human beings who created the bots can login and do whatever a registered user can do whether you have CAPTCHA or no CAPTCHA software.

Hey Websmith,
There are still many spam protection extensions available for Joomla! 3.
Please check this category in JED: https://extensions.joomla.org/tags/captcha/

Oh didn't notice you are on j3. Reinstall core files then extensions discover. That should find it. But your Joomla is old you need to update.

Re: Anyway to recaptcha registration page?
I installed Hcaptcha, which works on the contact form page, but it doesn't show up on the registration page. When I asked hcaptcha support about this, they referred me back here.?

Re: Anyway to recaptcha registration page?
You can ignore the under investigation, just a licensing issue same as Fabrik and many other common extensions.

See the documentation about how to use Google reCAPTCHA with the registration form: https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Google_ReCaptcha

That's interesting, isn't it?

Have you also set it in the options?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
