Should I build a test website in a subfolder?

Post by smiletransire » Mon May 27, 2024 8:18 am

Hello, I am a new member.
My friend has a test Joomla website built in a subfolder. This was not easy for me when setting the subdomain. Are there any notes to guide new users?

it's no different than putting Joomla in the main public_html folder of your hosting.

What is the trouble - associating a subfolder with your sub-domain? That's a question for your web host support. Normally you create the subdomain and it asks you to specify the folder so for example, a domain with a sub-folder "example" (yoursite.com/example) would be pointed to a subdomain of example.yoursite.com. (or rather the reverse, the subdomain points to the sub-folder).

Joomla documentation itself can be found at https://docs.joomla.org. Start with the Complete Beginners guide.
