Caching warning notice that appeared then disappeared

Post by paulus103 » Thu Oct 26, 2017 2:41 pm

Hi

I had an odd problem today where a warning showed up on the front end of the site (Joomla 3.8.1) and then disappeared (after 2 hours of me looking/reading)

The warning (all errors turned off in config) - /public_html/libraries/src/Cache/Storage/FileStorage.php on line 315

I'm using the file cache handler with jch optimise and regular labs cache cleaner all updated

My host is siteground and the first thing I checked was permissions

Just wondered if anybody else had seen this? - I'm keen to know in case it happens again

Many thanks
Paul

Hi

The full error was

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/micronfo/public_html/libraries/src/Cache/Storage/FileStorage.php on line 315

Thanks
Paul

Sorry for the late response. Have you seen the error again?

The error has not appeared since

I can only think it is an extension update that caused the problem

So I'm thinking jch optimise pro might have been the problem

But that is a guess really - but does match the timeframe other than updates to admin tools or akeeba backup

Cheers

Paul

If you want to simply hide errors and warnings just go to your administrator > Global Configuration > Server > Error Reporting
And select None.

The warning was on a live site so it had error reporting set to none :)

Are you using jch optimise?

Are you using cache cleaner?

Are you using any Joomla caching?

Any other caching extension?

Are you using up to date versions?

Cheers

I ran into this same error on my site. Disabling the JCH Optimize (free version) plugin makes the error disappear (and re-enabling the plugin brings it back). The error cropped up after I applied the JCH 5.2.0 update.

I played around a bit more, and found that if I enable JCH, and set the settings to "Intermediate" or "Average", the error also goes away. Seems like a new cache needed to get built after the update... or something along those lines.

I would recommend to let the JCH developers know about this.

For those who appear at this page. JCH optimize had an issue, you should uninstall it and then install a fresh version of the latest file (and clear your cache)
