Accessing a non-joomla page on a Joomla site

Post by pabirds » Thu Jan 18, 2018 1:33 pm

I have a Joomla-based website. It was converted from an html/php site.

I still have some legacy html and php files that I would like to use outside of Joomla.

But when I type in the address of those files (for instance http://www.website.com/folder/filename), I get File Not Found, even though the file exists.

Is there a special way to access those pages on a Joomla site?

No, nothing special about them. If you want to link them, just create standard hyperlinks to the files/pages from your article editor, or create a menu item.

All you would do fro the menu item, is use the "External URL" menu item type, and provide the full URL to the page.

Can you provide the actual site URL, and link to the files you are saying are not found?

If they are not found, then perhaps you deleted them ??? without realising it ???

Check the casing of the folder/file names. Are they all lower-case?
'File' is not the same as 'file' on Linux hosts.

Ditto, that too.

As above, providing links to the pages you have said are 'missing' would help. Then we can test the above point about 'case'.
