URL Routing Sitemap

Postby Alex2015 » Wed Mar 07, 2018 12:45 pm

Hello!

I 've modified the file .htaccess placed this

Code: Select all

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/sitemap.xml
RewriteRule .* /index.php?option=com_xmap&view=xml&id=1

To get a sitemap type - "www.site.com/sitemap.xml"

When enabled in Joomla 3.8 "Global Configuration" -> "Articles" -> "Integration" -> "URL Routing" -> "Remove IDs from the URL", this code does not work, it issues 404.

Please help me.

Try using the robots.txt, add;
"Sitemap: http://yoursite.com/component/xmap/path to sitemap/xml file" without the " "
You will have to discover the path to your sitemap in xmap.
Possibly https:// etc if you use SSL.

com_xmap is dead. Use OSmap instead. I also do not see why you wish to change the sitemap URL. HAs no influences on raking or indexing so useless

Can you explain in more detail which path should be?

I agree with you. But my xmap works properly and makes a good xml map.

Thank you

That's your opinion but where's you evidence? See https://vel.joomla.org/abandonware/2040-xmap. Dead means dead; please don't try to resurrect it.

Even if I use osmap

Code: Select all

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/sitemap.xml
RewriteRule .* /index.php?option=com_osmap&view=xml&id=1

I have an error of 404

I agree with @Leo: I don't see the reason for changing the URL of the sitemap. It has absolutely nothing to do with search engine indexing or ranking and, in my opinion, it's not a productive use of time.

In file robots.txt
to isolate dynamic links placed this

Code: Select all

Disallow: /index
Disallow: /*?

search engines do not see the address

Code: Select all

https://yousite.com/index.php?option=com_xmap&view=xml&id=1
