Adding your own message to the pop-up message after registration

Postby Ironside » Thu Mar 08, 2018 7:03 pm

When somebody registers on your website a box comes up telling them that an email has been sent to them. Is any way I can add something to this message? I want to make sure people check their spam folder after they have registered. I found over the years that web-based emails like Gmail and Hotmail sometimes get lost and people either don't receive the activation email, or it goes in the spam folder where they don't think the look.

I'm trying to find the text of the message for you but it's taking some time. It's my guess that the text of the message can be changed with a language override (if you know what the message text is, you can search for it). Anyway, see https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Language_O ... _in_Joomla for an introduction to the process.

Yeah, I managed to use the language override to put a message on the registration page. But I can't find one for that little box that pops up

Can you show us a screenshot of the "little box that pops up", please?

COM_USERS_REGISTRATION_COMPLETE_ACTIVATE="Your account has been created and an activation link has been sent to the email address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by selecting the activation link when you get the email before you can login."
COM_USERS_REGISTRATION_COMPLETE_VERIFY="Your account has been created and a verification link has been sent to the email address you entered. Note that you must verify the account by selecting the verification link when you get the email and then an administrator will activate your account before you can login."
