Assigning modules to articles when using categories list in menu

Postby egdotcom » Fri May 18, 2018 8:33 am

Hope I can explain this well.

On small sites eg 10 pages, I tend to use a module in position RIGHT to put in images - copies of posters, newspaper ads, etc.
Works well and I can use different module based on page content - able to assign modules on individual pages.

I have my hobby site with 600 plus pages - html/php - which I am now converting to Joomla. Major task and does not easily suit migration s/ware I purchased.
What the question is.
I am using menu items that list articles in that category but when I go to assign modules, individual pages dont show, just menu items. So if I assign, the module is show on every page in that category.

What have I done wrong?

Thanks for any ideas!!!!
