Broken Images

Post by compudime » Mon Aug 13, 2018 5:18 pm

Hello!
I am having a problem, the website images/media aren't loading properly on some pages. It seems to be when I go into pages not on the main menu. Anyone else had this problem?
Thank you!!!

Please provide the link to your site (to the pages you see the issue on) We have no idea otherwise, what is causing the problem ;) so we can't conclude anyone else has had it.

At a guess some ideas: (1) is it images you have recently uploaded (so it may be a caching issue). Clear the cache (joomla) and browser. (2) Try different browsers. (3) how are you inserting images into articles, etc,.?

Out of interest; what version of Joomla are you using - if not the latest, then please update!

Thank you for responding!!
I have updates joomla just recently!
I am still working on the site so it is a bit of a mess :(
I did some more digging and it seems the image addresses are all messed up. For example, the website is:
compudimepos.com/joomla30 and all of the image links work, they are all compudimepos.com/joomla30/images/xxx.png(or .jpg) but then lets say you go into the forum sections, the new image links will read: compudimepos.com/joomla30/forum/images/xxx.png even though they are the same images and should be pulled from the same images on every page.(they are menu images on every page). I tried making another folder known as forum>images> and then added the photos. Some pages are now working. Is there an easier way to fix this though? There are many other pages it's not working on and the image links are sort of adapting on their own from each page. I will attach a snapshot in the hopes that it makes it a bit clearer to understand.

Thank you so much for your help!!

I just checked, it's enabled. I also checked on multiple browsers, it does load on some pages, it is only when the main url path changes, that the images don't load :(

Thanks for your advice though!

I put the site back online!
compudimepos.com/joomla30/component/k2/get/global-changes

You can move around the site and see how the menu icons change.

Ok I see that the menu images when moving around the site are not being loaded though the image path is identical to the frontpage. I believe this is caused by possibly 2 causes:

Cause 1: K2-caching. Switch of SmartFormCaching in K2 temporary, clear all caches in Joomla and browser and see if the issue resolves with K2 caching off
Cause2: Wrong assignment inner templates/modules.... check these settings.

If this does not resolve you need to hire a professional who will look under the hood of your implementation to see what is wrong
