Periodically remove database records

Post by bjkluft » Tue Nov 13, 2018 12:23 pm

Hello,

I have a question: Due to privacy regulations (in Europe) we are no longer allowed to store data from users/visitors without there consent. Joomla 3.9 takes care of this beautifully (thanks for that!), but there is one aspect that is not (yet?!) implemented. I currently store information into the database from visitors that fill out a form on our website. One of them is to request for a rent of our Scouting building. There is quite some personal information in this request and it is stored forever in the database. I would like to have an option that automatically deletes records older then x weeks/months/years etc. from a selective table in the database.
Is such feature available or do-able?

With best regards,
Jeroen

This can be done with a plugin. Or a Cron script, if you need more precision.

Hi,

What form extension are you working with ?

Core Joomla contact form does not store anything in the database.
