HTTP 500 Error

I have a new headache!

I want to use some additional fields in a joomla article. So, I made a field group, and added 4 fields to it. All text based. I left the categorys to 'all'

Now, when I create a new article the screen goes blank and it returns a http500 error. If I unpublish the fields, all functions normally.

I asked my host if there was a problem with the server, but the only thing they found was a high number of visits to my site from my own IP 13400 ish!. I may have made a few hundred over the course of a day but '000s?

I wonder if somehow the additional fields are creating some kind of loop?

Although no errors were shown on screen, even when show max errors is selected in config.

Has anyone else come across this recently?

Regards, Brendan

For those interested:

The problem seems to be one of the fields.
I set one as an integer with a start of 1 and a finish of 2000000 in increments of 1.

It seems I overloaded the system trying to render 2 million items on a list!!
