Alphabetized Article Listing

Post by Windwood » Mon Apr 19, 2021 12:07 am

Some time ago I created an article that listed all the articles on my site in alphabetical order. It works great, however, I forgot how I did it and now would like to update that article and don't have a clue how I even created it in the first place. I can't find any plugins or modules that govern this article. If anyone can clue me in, I'd really appreciate it. Here's a link to the article in question.

Reviewed the site and it looks like a table has been defined with two columns and within each column the standard data cell is defined with Ordered List.

You are correct, but I did not do it manually. It was somehow generated by a program and I have forgotten how I did it.

What is the menu item type for the menu item ALPHA LIST?

If it is a Single Article, open the article and see whether you are noticing any code such as plugin code.

Thank you for your help imanickam. No plugin code. I must have done it manually. Have to try again. If I can put all articles in alpha order and copy their url somehow then paste into a table, that will work, but have to fix time for such an evolution. LOL

I figured out how I did this in the past, if anyone is interested. It's a bit long winded but works fine.
  • In Article Options click Show Category.
  • On your live site, click a menu item.
  • When it comes up click on the Category link.
  • Select all items in the category, copy, and past them into a word document.
  • In the word document, remove unwanted columns.
  • Select your list and merge all cells.
  • Copy and paste into a new word document. This will remove all table properties.
  • Select all.
  • Bulletize list.
  • In Open Office go to Tools>Sort and select Alphanumeric>Ascending.
  • Create new article in Joomla with a table if you need more than one column and paste the word document content into the article.
This process will retain all links to articles.
