Kickstart failure after restoring database

Postby PheeCato » Thu Mar 16, 2017 4:49 pm

Hi,
I'm trying to learn how to do backups with Akeeba but find it difficult to restore the website.
I uploaded backup file with kickstart.php.
Run the process.
Restored database
But in final stage, I add super user password and click next but get error 500.
Found out it is files permission related but can't sort it out.
My hosting structure looks like this:
domain/public_html/files
Could you please let me know how to make it work?

Kind regards,
Matt

I use Akeeba Backup kickstart often. I never have to add the superuser password since it is part of the backup. Maybe you don't have to enter this but just use the superuser info from the backup ? I have also found that for the best success I disable the search engine friendly urls/.htaccess when backing up and restoring a site.

Entering the password is optional ... I enter it when restoring to localhost because I use a different password there. It should work either way leave blank and the password stays the same.

It could be the permissions the database user has ?
