Migrating Joolma to a new Host provider

Post by willielucas » Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:27 pm

I am migrating my joolma website from one host provider to another host provider "GoDaddy"
On my new host provider I installed a new copy of joolma and was able to access joolma administator page and joolma demo websites "joolma demo templates Breez3".
I then exported my sql database from old host provider and imported into my new host provider joolma sql database.
I then zip all files and directories under the folder 'public_html' in my old host provider and then unzip the file into my new host provider folder 'public_html'.
I then edited the configeration.php file on the new host provider to put in the correct sql db name, user, password and location.
I am able to access joolma administator on the new host provider and everything is there from my old host provider joolma administator page.
the problem is when I try to view my page or a joolma demo template "breez3" I get the following error

Wrong. You do not install a new Joomla and import your old Joomla to it.

Please undo what you have done and start again. Make sure you still have a copy of your website. see https://docs.joomla.org/Copying_a_Jooml ... _method.29

If you do not have access to the original website or files please post back before doing anything.

A template or extension is not compatible with the version of php.

Are you up to date?

Joomla 3.9.10
JCE 2.7.14

Have you corrected log and tmp path in configuration.php?

Maybe because "joolma" doesn't exist......you misspell "joomla" every time! ;) :).

You can install a Joomla extension Akeeba backup to make a backup on your first site and make a .jpa copy that you use to install on the second site with Akeeba kickstart process learn more here its a very fast transfer of site for you https://www.akeebabackup.com/products/a ... ackup.html
Success in the long run Its not about the code its about the people and community that's make it!
Its not what you say its what you do that matters!
