New install Control Panel is showing "Joomla 3.2.7, Update now!"

Having just completed a Joomla install system information is showing "Joomla! Version Joomla! 3.10.1 Stable [ Daraja ] 22-August-2021 16:41 GMT" but the control panel is showing under MAINTENANCE "Joomla 3.2.7, Update now!".
Clicking on this takes me to the Joomla Update page which states "No update available".
Is there a way to get the control panel working properly for this?

3.10.2 is the latest version, so you should get an upgrade.

Good question!

This isn't the normal situation but I have a suggestion that may help. If you are currently using J! 3.10.1 and you're being told that there's a new update available (and there is—it's J! 3.10.2) there are a couple of things you might like to try:

1) Go to Extensions » Manage » Update Sites and click the Rebuild button (top left) and then go back to the Joomla! Update page to see if anything has changed (in terms of not telling you about J! 3.2.7, that is).

2) In some cases—apparently in situations where a J! 3.x website was originally constructed before J! 3.4—complications may arise when updating from one version of J! 3.10 to another. I don't know if it applies to this situation, but the trick is to follow @Per's advice in viewtopic.php?f=710&t=988432&p=3639642#p3639642 (ignore @Per's reference to J! 3.10.3 which, of course, doesn't exist).

It was installed using the SiteGround.com "App Installer" with Joomla selected.

1) Did the Rebuild - no change
2) Selected the Test update channel, the update page correctly shows 3.10.2 (which apparently I should not be using so I reverted to Default). Still no change on the Control Panel

No comment. No matter how many times we write on this forum to please use the official installation kits, people will do things differently. Suggest that you complain to the people who wrote the "App Installer" and ask for them to fix the mess that you're now in.

No comment. No matter how many times we write on this forum to please use the official installation kits, people will do things differently. Suggest that you complain to the people who wrote the "App Installer" and ask for them to fix the mess that you're now in.

Good point and the link in Webdongle's reply also made this clear.
So I have a two-step solution First get SiteGround to fix the problem they created (they are usually very good at that) second learn how to use the official installation kit!
