Fatal error after most recent Joomla 3.x update

Post by DanGains » Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:45 am

About 20 minutes ago, I updated to the most recent Joomla 3 release.

I admit, I should have tested this on my local server first and now I'm reaping the consequences.

Since updating, I'm now unable to access the Joomla admin dashboard and the website is down.

We use Akeeba backup and fortunately I have a backup as recent as last night, however without access to to Joomla, I have no way of restoring this backup.

Does anyone have any pointers as to how I can restore?

Welcome to the Joomla forum!

Are you familiar with Akeeba Backup and Akeeba's Kickstart utility?

If you have XAMPP or, preferably Wampserver, installed in your workstation, if you have not restored before, you could first practise uploading the .jpa backup file and Kickstart into an empty folder and then restoring the Joomla filesystem into the folder and the database into an empty database schema.

Our hosting provider recently changed and the files were automatically blocked by their new virus scanner, causing the issue.

Those files have since been whitelist and access restored all round! Thanks anyway toivo.
