mcrypt php71 MacOS High Sierra, Joomla 3.8 local

Postby Dekker » Mon Jan 15, 2018 9:01 pm

hi

i am trying to install joomla 3.8 local. But the mcrypt is red in step 3 installation.
Running phpinfo it indeed appears not to be installed.
So with homebrew i installed it. But it still doesn't appear in phpinfo.
Does anyone has any idea how to solve this problem?
Many thanks in advance.

Yes.

Don't bother with MacOS installation of php/apache, etc. Install MAMP/MAMP Pro and use this for your local site. MAMP is free, MAMP Pro small license fee. Same download so try MAMP and if you like it then purchase a License and get full control over your environment. Quicker and a lot less fuss.

It is a simple as that, and what most Mac users do :D
