Installing Joomla 3.6.5 to 3.8.3 hangs

Postby joesefkarim » Mon Jan 22, 2018 7:53 am

Hello,

When I try updating Joomla 3.6.5 to 3.8.3 the installation commences but hangs at about 70% without completing the process. And displays an error message about Java script error. Subsequently, the website backend turns all "white" and can't see or access the contents.

I contacted the company that I bought the template from but they insist that the template has nothing to do with the Joomla installation/updates.

Any ideas on what I could do to resolve it?

I might be able to guess what is causing the problem but I suggest that you use the Forum Post Assistant reporting tool in this topic and maybe there will be something that will leap off the page to give us a clue. :pop

Restore using your backup
Set Protostar as default Template
Retry update
