New to Joomla. Joomla Installation hanging

Hi All,

I am new to joomla installation. I downloaded XAMPv3.2.2 and Joomla 3.4.5 stable full package. I have installed the xampp successfully and started joomla installation. After entering the key information, it hangs and doesnt move beyond this stage. See attchement. Please help. I need to progress.

Try again with the latest version 3.8.7. and install in the root not a folder of xampp

Unfortunately, the picture in the doc is vague.

The pic is the washed-out screen with the spinning Joomla logo - I think the stage where it's creating/populating database and stalling due to time-out issues.

Refer to the documentation for XAMPP concerning how to edit php settings such as those below:

max_post_size (check current value, increase it to, for example, 30M)
max_file_Upload_size (check current value and increase it to, for example, 30M)
max_execution_time (check current value and increase it to, for example, 300)

Then re-run the installation and it should complete (and I don't know why you chose to try and install v3.4.5 when 3.8.7 is the latest....)
