Errors when installing the joomla 3.0.4

Post by pekky » Tue Oct 23, 2018 2:48 pm

At the first stage of installation, when entering data, errors are displayed:
Field required: Site Name

Field required: Admin Email

Field required: Admin Username
Install on hosting, what do you recommend?

Recommend that you install the latest version of Joomla, 3.8.13.

echoing @toivo, how did you come across v3.0.4 which was released in April 2013 ???. The latest version is from https://downloads.joomla.org

Regarding the errors: "required fields" Just to clarify - are you saying despite putting these details in, it is still giving the errors? . If it's saying "required field" it means exactly that.

Site Name - is *your website's name* e.g. "Joe Bloggs World of Animals"
Admin User name is *your* administrator user name (you have to create one - it's not asking for an existing user name).
Admin Email - your own email address you wish to use with the system.

Other details (not mentioned in your question) are concerned with the database - a database user name, the database user's password, the database host name (usually called localhost but might differ according to your hosting company).

Refer to the documentation for more help on installing Joomla: https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Installing_Joomla

Hosting firms - that's up to you; but I suppose common (well known) ones might include: Arvixe, HostMonster, BlueHost, GoDaddy, SiteGround,Cloud Access and probably a few dozen others.

You could even consider setting up a free website.....to test Joomla and learn how to use it. Go to
https://launch.joomla.org and sign-up there. There's no need to install Joomla, you get all that done for you, and have access to the Joomla system plus the host's control panel to configure certain aspects of the hosting.
