JCE URL Link Upload Folder Problem

Post by Jody_Ecklund » Thu Feb 22, 2018 6:24 pm

When using the JCE editor to hyperlink text, uploaded files are dropped in the wrong location, and my user folder is recreated within my user folder.

Example:
1. I log in from our front end
2. Edit article
3. Select text, click link, then click URL Browse
jce2.png
4. Upload file into the selected folder
jce3.png
5. Then the problem appears. My user folder is recreated within my user folder, with sub-directories

This is very difficult to clean up and super confusing for my users. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be very helpful.

Thank you

I am not sure I have read your question correctly but it has some similarity to my issue whick I solved
viewtopic.php?f=706&t=958915
My solution - reproduced below, but reading the article may get you seeing where I am coming from.

I did a few more hours research that led to a search that lead to an article on Editor Parameters:
https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/sup ... ctory-path
So my steps im Joomla were to:
JCE Administraton: Editor Profiles
Default>Editor Parameters>File System
Changed File Directory Path from root/images to images.
