Re: Embedded videos
No, they use up bandwith of the visitor of your site..
anything not coming from your IP/host is not using bandwith of your server
anything not coming from your IP/host is not using bandwith of your server

Re: Embedded videos
If your Hosting package has a bandwidth limit then every time someone visits your site then they use bandwidth of your Hosting package.

Re: Embedded videos
if the video is coming from yourdomain.com - yes
if the video is coming from [youtube].com/whateverelseisinthepath/andsuch - no
It then is only using more bandwith of the viewer.

Re: Embedded videos
Not accurate because
If it is coming from [youtube] via your website then it is using the website bandwidth to deliver it. But if your Hosting package has no limit then nothing to worry about.

Re: Embedded videos
I'm sorry but I don't know where you obtained that information. See https://webmasters.stackexchange.com/qu ... -bandwidth that addresses the bandwidth issue. If you have different information I'd love to see it.

Re: Embedded videos
Whut?
You can check yourself.
Hit F12 into a page to open console, select tab NETWORK and F5.. you see the sources of the elements pop in. In a page running a YT frame you will see the sources/domains where all is coming from.
Anything and everything not coming from your source/domain, is NOT eating your servers bandwidth as these are requested from the initial document in the visitores browser.
The only thing "delivered" by you is the embedding code telling the browser to go elsewhere to fetch the video stream.

Re: Embedded videos
Yes, I fail to see also how embedding a YT video in your own site will then use up that site's hosting band-width /data transfer allowance, when the video is coming from YT.
