Just to clarify. I noticed an issue when trying to upload images via JomSocial.

After reading some forum posts I discovered that not having the temp folder set can cause issues with file uploads. The Joomla Extensions Manager Warnings states that the Temp folder is undefined.

I defined upload_tmp_dir in my local php.ini file.

A phpinfo.php file placed in my root folder shows the correct path to my tmp folder which exists and has 755 permissions, but Joomla's System Information > PHP Information shows "no value" after reading my web hosts php.ini file which is not writeable by me.

You should have public $live_site='' in configuration.php

Contact your host about the temp folder not writable.

Is Joom Social at the latest version? It have a problem with php 7.4.

I checked my configuration.php and it contains
public $live_site = 'https://mywebsitedomain.com';

It should be public $live_site = '' (Empty single quote)

Is there a strong reason why you have changed that?
If not, I suggest changing it back.

Joomla does not read any php ini files. It's php that do that. The system temp is a server wide setting, so you have to contact you host.

I will make the change to configuration.php as you suggested, but I have not modified the file prior.
I will open a ticket with my hosting provider.

After contacting my hosting support, I was able to resolve the issue of Joomla reading a differrent php.ini file and the Extensions > Manage > Warnings: Temp folder is undefined warning went away.

My hosting provider is using WHM|CPanel|MultiPHP to provide a desired php version to customers.
When there is a php.ini in Joomla's root folder and I used Joomla's System | System Information, PHP Information tab:
I received different results quoted from above

Joomla shows:
Loaded Configuration File: /opt/cpanel/ea-php74/root/etc/php.ini
upload_tmp_dir: no value

phpinfo.php placed in Joomla's root folder shows:
Loaded Configuration File: /home/username/public_html/php.ini
upload_tmp_dir: /home/username/public_html/tmp

Placing a copy of the php.ini that is in the Joomla root in the administrator folder fixed the warning.
