Jooma database duplicate

Post by alekimn » Wed Dec 01, 2021 12:31 pm

I accessed my joomla website database, and suprised to find a duplicate of my original site database on a different Databases name that i don't recall creating.
Should i be worried about this? And if i delete it, will it bring any negative impact on my website? ???

No. It's probably some installation attempt or restoration (like using Akeeba Backup) on the same database using a different database prefix.

I would check the #__users table to see if you created it yourself.
And maybe the registration date and last visit date might give you an idea when that version was created.

Removing the tables with the database prefix you don't use, won't have a negative impact.
Actually, your backups will be smaller and backup time will be less.
However, before doing so I would create a backup of everything (all folders/files + all database tables) and keep that offsite, just in case...

In Akeeba Backup you can also set the configuration to exclude certain database tables, so you could exclude those duplicates before you do the abovementioned backup, and then remove the duplicate tables completely.
