White Page that resolves with clearing cache Topic is solved

Today, my website was down. A white page with no page source.

Admin pages worked fine.
Clearing cache resolved the issue.

How would I go about figuring out why that occurred?

When I turned on debug, I see the debug on the admin side, but on the main site, it is still a white screen with no page source and no debug info displayed. Any thoughts?

This WSOD continues and continues to be resolved with clearing of the cache.
Last week, on a single day, it happened twice. Then it seems to have been fine for 3-4 days.
I was hopeful it has resolved, but then this morning, it returned.

I set the Debug to Maximum and get this message:

Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 18 of 57311 bytes in /home/customer/www/<domain>.com/public_html/libraries/src/Cache/Controller/PageController.php on line 104

I was expecting to see something related to an extension, but this doesn't seem to be.

Any thoughts on how to debug further or resolve?

Caching is enabled. Maybe I misunderstood the question, but yes, caching is on and when I clear the cache, the site works fine again - for a variable period of time.

Since it can take a few days for the site to go down, I can't change to Protostar as the site is not usable with that template. My template is the same one I have had for some time and has not been updated recently.

I have updated a number of other extensions though and expected that the message would point to one of them, but it did not.

Any other things I can do to debug further?

Disable cache and see what happens. The error shows that it something to do with the way the site is handling cache.

I don't understand "Since it can take a few days for the site to go down". It takes less than a minute to switch to Protostar, type in a url (the browser fills it in) then test and change the The Template back.

The error only happens after a period of time. Caching and site are fine for a day or two or three and then fail. So if I change to Protostar, it would need to stay that way for 1-3+ days for the error to happen again.

There are several ways that J! can use caching. Your Forum Post Assistant report (see the pink box at the top of this page) may provide some clues. Read a couple of the articles I referred you to; you may have to dig a little deeper.
