THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!M en J wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2023 1:44 am After digging for a few days I found a solution that worked for me.
Install the Mootools Disabler/Enabler from https://extensions.joomla.org/extension ... r-disabler and enable the plugin. Just leave the defaults and see if it works for you before you start fiddling around. I didn't need to adjust anything.
It really fix the problem!

Re: Joomla 3 and Recaptcha v2
I discovered that I needed Mootools for certain things on my site so I tried this updated version of Mootools and now I can use Mootools and reCaptcha. See https://github.com/google/recaptcha/iss ... 1824318192 for more information.

Re: Joomla 3 and Recaptcha v2
It appears that it was a Google fault. As of today the issue has been resolved and looks to be functioning normally again.
Thanks to everyone for the various fixes.

The easiest way is to rename or delete the mootools-core.js file in the /home/yourroot/public_html/media/system/js in whatever you like so it is not loaded anymore and then you don't need plugins or similar.

Re: Joomla 3 and Recaptcha v2
As per the previous posts, this is caused by a reCAPTCHA / MooTools conflict.
Assuming you can't immediately migrate to Joomla 4, the best solution is to upgrade Mootools in Joomla 3.
The latest versions of the MooTools files can be downloaded from:
Other Solutions
Switching to hCAPTCHA can help on some websites but some extensions e.g ChronoForms implement their own version of reCAPTCHA so installing hCAPTCHA won't fix this.
Completely or selectively disabling MooTools using jQuery Easy or MooTools Enabler/Disabler or similar can help on some websites but this is not an ideal solution as many Joomla 3 extensions rely on MooTools to function.

Re: Joomla 3 and Recaptcha v2
Thank you @ozneilau , this was helpful!
It solved an issue with an embedded Google Map - it was not appearing but it is now and that's great. Previously the only solution was to delete the mootools-core.js files. Even the solution offered in Github / Google didn't do anything for me.
Now I still have an issue with Recaptcha (v2). While others have reported the recaptcha just loading/spinning forever, my issue is that recaptcha doesn't show at all

Joomla 3.10 recaptcha " I am not a robot" was not working, just spinning and spinning. I downloaded and updated the mootools files as suggested and it worked!

Re: Joomla 3 and Recaptcha v2
Hello! How can I upload the files? Is it thru admin console or thru FTP? If thru the latter, I tried to activate FTP in global settings with localhost, user, pass and root / but I am not able to connect using for instance FileZilla (unauth error). Any idea about it? Thanks!audex wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 8:48 pmSaved me precious minutes. Re: Joomla 3 and Recaptcha v2
Joomla 3 has the FTP settings still in the Global Configuration. The caused issues and they were removed in Joomla 4.somosarroba wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:36 pmIs it thru admin console or thru FTP? If thru the latter, I tried to activate FTP in global settings with localhost, user, pass and root
Set up FTP or SCP access in the cPanel or a similar page, provided by your host.
