Emptying cache directory

Post by antonios » Wed Jan 31, 2024 6:04 pm

Hi,
my J3 installation under the directory public_html has a cache directory which has the following structure
caCHE.png
I am not sure if this directory is part of Joomla. However, it has a
page
directory with 5GB size full of .php files and I wonder if it is safe to clear it, so that I can save a lot of space, since my hosting account is already full!
Any ideas?

I think you can safely delete all the folders and files under the cache folder.

Hi, I started deleting those files in the cache/page/ directory and started getting these messages in my website landing page:
Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 28602 of 28639 bytes in /home2-2020/permacul/domains/permacultura-es.org/public_html/libraries/src/Cache/Controller/CallbackController.php on line 116

Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type bool in /home2-2020/permacul/domains/permacultura-es.org/public_html/libraries/src/Cache/Controller/CallbackController.php on line 127
So in some way those files appear to have an influence on what is displayed.
The home page doesn't seem to be accessible any longer
This is how the webpage looks like:

My website's URL is https://www.permacultura-es.org

The errors disappeared. What did you do to fix it?

Your template may also have it's own caching system.

@Per in which way does the template's cache may be the cause of this and how can I configure it so that it doesn't write continuosly there?

The "page" cache directory is used by "System - Page Cache" plugin.
