How to remove suffix from admin login

Post by jross » Sun Apr 21, 2024 8:18 am

Hello, I have started work on an old Joomla 3 website, upgrading it to J4 and then J5.

The admin url goes something like this - https://www.abcd.org.au/administrator/?canada

How do I remove the ..../?canada from the admin URL?

There doesn't appear to be a hidden .htaccess file either, just a standard htaccess.txt file if that's any help.

I have looked everywhere to remove this with no success.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess

Thanks but how is that going to help?
The htaccess.txt file doesn't reference the modified admin url.
I'd like to know how the previous developers have modified the admin url so I can change it myself.

I think you have a Security Extension installed.

Thank you, I think I found it. A plugin called System - AdminExile
I have since disabled it.
Much appreciated.
