Admin control panel not loading

Post by Higherhendham » Thu Dec 29, 2016 9:53 pm

Hi,

Just tried to get into the control panel of my site and the login screen loads, i login and it goes to a blank page..

I can get to all my content if I go via a direct link to another area in the backend, but therefore cannot update the joomla software etc..

Any chance of some help !

If you search this forum for "admin blank page" you will probably discover that, in nearly every case, it is because there is an error that is preventing the page from being rendered properly.

The best way to address this type of issue is to enable error reporting on your site.

What's curious about your situation are the words "... just tried to get into the control panel" (almost as if this problem somehow appeared without human intervention). So, the very first thing you need to do is enable error reporting on your website (there are a few thousand articles that will show you how to do that). Let's see what you discover. 8)

Every blank page hides an error, so change in your configuration.php

Code: Select all

public $error_reporting = ‘default’:
to

Code: Select all

public $error_reporting = ‘maximum’:
and then check what error gives this blank page. If you still not see any error then ask from your host to enable display errors.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in responding..

The error coming up is the following:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 25165824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /home/sites/SITENAME.co.uk/public_html/administrator/modules/mod_menu/tmpl/default_enabled.php on line 342

Line 342 is as follows:

$menu->addChild(new JMenuNode(JText::_('MOD_MENU_COM_LANGUAGES_SUBMENU_CONTENT'), 'index.php?option=com_languages&view=languages', 'class:language'));

Does anyone know what may be causing this, with this information ?

Please increase your memory limit in your php.ini . You can put 128M for begin . If you don t know how to do it, please ask your host to do it for you.
