Site Fails To Load Display News by BK Module

Post by gdprice » Thu Sep 21, 2017 2:10 am

Can anyone help me please. Have just updated site to latest version and there were a few other updates also available which I did not note down and now the site fails to load returning the following error:

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/homepages/14/d230688140/htdocs/msjoomla/libraries/legacy/table/category.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php7.0') in /homepages/14/d230688140/htdocs/msjoomla/modules/mod_dn/helper.php on line 22

Can anyone help me solve this please.

Thanks,

Graham

You have an issue with the module Display News; it may be incompatible with PHP 7.x. I suggest that you ask the creator of this module about your problem or, if that does not help, you may need to disable or uninstall the module.

If you have other issues cause the site failing to load properly, it may be a good idea to use the Forum Post Assistant report tool so that we can obtain more information about your specific circumstances.

Many thanks sozzled ..... module disabled and site now back up and running. The module is by BK Extensions and I will contact them about the problem. The module worked fine with 3.7 so some changes with 3.8 must have caused the problem. Not sure about php!

Hi,

I had this problem with Display News as well.
After looking into the code, I see that this module needs core Joomla files that are missing from Joomla 3.8, namely :

Code: Select all

libraries/legacy/table/category.php
libraries/legacy/table/content.php
I have copied them from an older Joomla version to my test J3.8 version and it works.
It's not a php7 problem, I have this test site running correctly with php 7.2.

Hope this helps. I'd like to know why these files are no longer in the core 3.8 installation...

They have been moved to libraries/src/table
