Hello All,

I have recently switched domains and since the switch I have had some troubles. bajaconnections.com
1. Can't log in to Joomla Admin. This is the error I receive.

Catchable fatal error: Argument 3 passed to JClientFtp::getInstance() must be of the type array, null given, called in /home/trevorsolitude01/public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 488 and defined in /home/trevorsolitude01/public_html/libraries/joomla/client/ftp.php on line 194

A few errors are displaying on the home page of the website.

Hey Trevor,

Are you able to log in yet? I see the errors below at your admin login, and the site looks to be up.

Looks like these system plugins and missing for the JA template.

If you don't want to see the errors on the live site, you can set error reporting to zero/none - but turn them on again if you are actively working to solve it!

To stop the error, so you can log in, you will have to go into the database, identify the template and plugins that are causing the error, make changes to them.

I would not do this work on a livesite!

Other options are to roll back to when you had a working copy of the site.

Then take a copy and try all updates on it first.

I have not heard any good stories about go-daddy! Might be worth finding a backup and moving to a better quality host, if that is an option for you.

Check your configuration.php and see what database is being used and check the credentials.

I think it reads somehow data from the old database and "Godaddy" has not changed the tmp and log files.

Do you still have access to the old domain (maybe via IP?)

Leo knows at least as much about servers as me (probably more than me)

Database user enough permissions to read the database but not edit it ?
Possibly you had backup on localhost and manually transferred the site without editing localhost database login ?
Some sort of redirect/rewrite in .htaccess is showing the site on the other server.

Two common mistakes

1. Not editing the configuration.php file
   Using Akeeba is best for moving a site
2. Hard codin www to non www (or visa versa) in the .htaccess file
