re-install Joomla core modules

Post by bobdobelina » Thu Aug 09, 2018 1:06 pm

I have an issue with Joomla's Single Article module. When I set it up I can select the article but afterwards I can't change or remove it. I've worked on other sites and seen how it should work but it's different on this one site.

Is it possible to re-install just that module?

I recently updated to 3.8.11 and hoped it would fix it but it's not.

Hello bobdobelina

Click on Components -> Joomla! update. Press Check for Updates.
Then this will show "No updates available." Click on the "Reinstall Joomla core files" button.

Hope this helps.

I have an issue with Joomla's Single Article module.
Which one you mean? Single Article Module does not exist. We have the following modules:
Articles - Archived This module shows a list of the calendar months with Archived Articles. After you have...
Articles - Categories This module displays a list of categories from one parent category.
Articles - Category This module displays a list of articles from one or more categories.
Articles - Latest This module shows a list of the most recently published and current Articles.
Articles - Most Read This module shows a list of the published Articles which have the highest number of page...
Articles - Newsflash The Newsflash Module will display a fixed number of articles from a specific category.
Articles - Related This module displays other Articles that are related to the one being viewed. These...
please clarify? If you are talking about the newsflash module ? see this link

I always thought it was a standard Joomla module, maybe not?

That is not a Joomla core module
Extensions >>> Manage >>> Manage >>> Show all ... order ID descending ... should put the 3rd party Components/modules/plugins at the top.

NOT .....I posted you the available modules and your module is clearly not a Joomla core module but something of a 3rd party module (and I do know the Joomla modules for sure after so many years and being a Member of the Joomla CMS Release Team!

Cheers

I've actually just found a similar post on here from last year. Someone was also confused, thinking this is a core module.

Looks like it is a Template Monster module so I'll ask them if it can be re-installed. They'll probably try to charge me though.

For the record, it's a great module.

So tell me what this module does so we can see what we (Joomla and 3rd party) have available for you without you having to pay for it?
