menu in 404 error page

Post by Thomsterdam » Wed Jul 17, 2019 1:06 pm

Hi there,
My present 404 error page is rather bland looking. It has got my logo, the number ‘404’, the string ‘URL invalid’ and a button back to the home page.

1. Is it possible to include the website menu at the top? I would think that would make navigation in such a case a whole lot easier. I do have access to the page called error.php Could you help me getting the menu in there?

2. But perhaps you think this is not a good idea. Could you explain why?

There are ways to customise the 404 error page.

While some have a more interesting design, I don't know if they can include a menu module etc as you have asked.

There may be other solutions beyond the above such as

[edit] reconsidering my response, here's the easiest way I believe, as documented in Joomla's documentation: ... Error_Page. The categorized article it mentions could no doubt have a menu module like all your other pages.
