Admin rights

Post by pettilieva » Tue Feb 07, 2023 11:47 am

Hi everybody,

Please advise if it is possible to provide a user with admin rights, so a person can enroll students in different courses but to has no access to the back-end or basically anything else related to the lms.

Many thanks in advance!

Welcome to Joomla forum!

You can create a new User Group and in components you can specify Permissions for that group.
In your LMS it's only possible if your component use the default Joomla's ACL (Access Control List):
the component should have a "Permissions" tab where you can configure certain actions for certain User Groups.

Those actions should be specified in an access.xml file in the component.
Joomla's com_content component (for Articles) has such a file:
https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/bl ... access.xml

Last year I did a presentation about configuring Joomla's ACL for default Joomla components.
You can find the video at [youtube] if you search for "JD22DACH - How to make Joomla 4 easier for your customers?"
The explanation of configuring the ACL starts at 2:30.
