Re: joomla 3.8 slower why
Have you updated to Joomla 3.8.1 or Joomla 3.8.0? If you're running Joomla 3.8.0, then try updating to Joomla 3.8.1 and see if that fixes the problem, since Joomla 3.8.0 had a bug where the same event was triggered twice.

@Folamour If 3.8.0 is working for you, then 3.8.1 should be better, since it fixes a major performance bug.

Re: joomla 3.8 slower why
hi itoctopus
you remember we used to get about 0.35 seconds server compute time on our ippatrol graph, for a page, pre 3.7
we had about a 20% improvement from putting 3.8.1 over 3.8.0
but the whole site is still only half as fast server wise than it was before the recent upgrades.
we are getting about 0.6 seconds on 3.8.1 which sadly is significantly slower than the 3.6.. 3.7 of about 0.35 seconds
i think it needs looking into.
something is being done now in the code which is using up far more processing time
i couldn't see any big sql's etc on debug.

Re: joomla 3.8 slower why
it seem that since 3.8.0, the upgrade is really impacting performance of joomla site, i agree that 3.8.1 seem better than 3.8.0, but 3.8.1 seem slower thant 3.7.5, so we will wait that all this mess be cleared, we have 15k article, and i cannot afford a slower site, thanks all for your feedback its really appreciated.

hi
ippatrol graphs probably the earlier one is a 3.7, later one is 3.8.1
speaks for itself allowing for server load variations
