500 Internal Server Error

Post by ykaldes » Sun Mar 03, 2013 5:59 am

Something really weird!
I was able to install files and extensions with no problem what so ever on my Joomla 2.5 (and my 3.0 on another site) but lately I was trying to upload new extension and got the Internal Server Error screen. Tried to upload image from the Media manger and getting Internal Server Error.
Here is where it is getting really interesting, creating and article and uploading an image - no problem. I also tried to upload extension and images from another computer with the same browser version and it worked fine. I have another site with joomla 1.6 and no problem there. it happened in all browsers: Safari, Firefox and Chrome - I'm really puzzled...
iMac 10.6.8, Firewall-off
Please help!!!

Can you check what's error in error log file? Try to un-publish if you have installed something and noticed this afterwards.

Wow, I thought no one will take the challenge and respond. Thank you Scorpiock!
I didn't upload anything beside the complete template with the Joomla wrapped with it.
I don't know where is the error log...can you tell me where it is.
thanks so much.

I just solved it...I simply went to my disk utility and ran Repair Disk Permissions. It did the trick!
Thanks.

Great, you are in good shape now :) log path you can check under Administrator>>Control Global Configuration>>System

Check the value of "Path to Log Folder *
