After Joomla! 3.7.4 ONLY the

Post by krogias » Mon Jul 31, 2017 6:06 am

Hi,
There is something wrong with Joomla! 3.7.4 update.
No matter what template you assign to a Menu item, on the front end, it only uses the default template.

I had to restore my website to J!3.7.3

I use JA Purity III template with T3 Framework.

Its not a joomla issue.

Check at first that you have updated all your joomlart components, plugins etc to the latest version.

If the problems continue.. then you must have messed up the Joomlart template layouts.

All joomlart components are updated.
I haven't changed anything in joomla template's layouts for the past 6 months.
I reported the issue to Joomlart team and they said that it is a Joomla update issue.

Don t restore to joomla 3.7.3 as is a vulnerable version. Update to 3.7.4 and contact with the creator of the template. This template may needs update by the creator.

Sorry but if it was a joomla issue generally, the same problem would have and other templates from other companies but i did n t saw that, so it s not a joomla issue. If something changes in joomla update, the creators of third party extensions or templates must change too if they need to do it.

Yes, changes are expected on each Joomla Update. Template creators and plugins must be updated to match new requirements. Those are the issues often seen when the site don't display correctly.

Same problem here... also happens when using Beez3 and protostar, so it doesn't seem related to third party templates only.

It seems that ticking the star "Default for all pages" overrides the menu assignment of other templates.

This happened after the 3.7.4 update. And is very annoying...

So, is it a Joomla! bug?

I have a feeling it is... but it's weird that so few people complain about it...

One would need to make a fresh install of 3.7.4 and check if the behavior is the same using the default templates.

In the meantime I found a workaround, but for now I cannot use several templates on my site, which is very annoying.

I don't know how that happened but instead of installing the Joomla! 3.7.3 to 3.7.4 Patch Package I installed the Joomla! 3.7.4 Patch Package and now everything is O.K.!
Go figure...

When i m saying corrupted i am not saying when you download it but when the update patch was extracted in the process of update.

I tried to install it 4-5 times. For me, 3.7.3 to 3.7.4 patch had issues. Anyways.

Not for me. As a Member of the Joomla CMS Release team I personally tested each patch package before the release and they all worked as expected

But glad that one way of the other you solved the upgrade.
