Setting image and file path to subdomain on same server

Hello, I would like to serve my images and files from a subdomain (eg, https://static.domainname.com/logo.png) while the actual livesite and cookie domain are www.domainname.com

I could make a subdomain in Cpanel (eg, static.domainname.com) that points to the "images" directory but that won't suffice. The image paths won't change upon request but they will still be relative to the web directory.

Any hints on how to do this?
