GMail and RSForm

I have started having issues with form submittals. It tells me SMTP connect()failed and Test email could not be sent. It worked for the longest time, and then all of the sudden, stopped. Has anybody run into this issue? I have cleared the cache, triple checked the settings. I am totally lost.

I guess a better question would be, what is the process for sending email in Joomla? What does it use to complete the tasks so I can maybe hunt down the issue?

Global Configuration has the settings for "mail server".

It might be something as simple as incorrect user (login) information you provided (if for example you changed your password in GMAIL itself, remember to update that password in the Global Configuration of Joomla in the Email settings.).

Can joomla successfully send email using a method other than SMTP? that is PHPMail or Sendmail? Does the GMail account send and receive in its own right under normal operating conditions outside of JOomla environment?

Have you created an app password for Joomla in Gmail?
