Front end not functioning after update to 3.9.4

Post by webguy101au » Fri Mar 15, 2019 6:30 am

Would love to say the update went well, but backend running fine from 3.9.3 to 3.9.4, but front end is no longer functioning.

Was running PHP 7.1, tried going back to 7.0. No joy.

Not a white screen of death, just comments about httpaccess file etc

ERROR 500 - INTERNAL SERVER ERROR

It could be an extension (e.g. your template) that is not compatible; Joomla runs fine in its own right on PHP 7 (has done since v3.5).

Turn on error reporting (in Administrator) to Maximum; also in php.ini file.

If you use Akeeba Admin Tools, run the Fix Permissions function; if not, would advise you to do so.

Please provide the FPA Report - as per instruction at top of this forum in the red box: Forum Post Assistant - If you are serious about wanting help, you will use this tool to help you post.

The FPA will give us an idea of your site and what extensions you have, and can then identify anything that is out of date or incompatible.

I uploaded the file, tried to run it, same error. Yes, I have run admin tools permission fixer previously after it first happened.

3.9.3 was running fine before, all I did was update to 3.9.4. Do not underrstand why backend still works but not front end.

Do you mean that when you followed the instructions and tried to run FPA, it ended up in HTTP 500 Internal Server Error? That is very unusual.

Since you can access administrator, swap the front-end template to Protostar and test. What template are you actually using, for your front-end?
