updating old joomla site

Post by marymac » Sun Dec 01, 2019 5:39 pm

Is it possible that since this site is so old it cannot be updated anymore? Sorry for the basic questions. This in only my second time working in Joomla.

The Joomla Update! page says this:

"No updates available.
You are on the "Joomla! Next" update channel. Through this channel you'll receive notifications for all updates of the current Joomla! release (3.x) and you will also be notified when the future major release (4.x) will be available. Before upgrading to 4.x you'll need to assess its compatibility with your environment.

You already have the latest Joomla version, 3.5.1."

I don't think that the age of your website is responsible for your problem.

Change the option for the Joomla! Update component. Go to Components » Joomla! Update: select Options at the top right side of the page. On the Update Source tab, select Update Source = Default, then Save & Close.

Now return to the Joomla! Update component and click Search for Updates. Does that help?
