Migrating from Wordpress? Will Joomla be worth it?

Post by saraebasi2589 » Fri Jun 25, 2021 2:13 pm

I have a tech blog where I feel the need to use multiple themes on different sections of my website.

WordPress lets me use only one theme, but upon research, I have found out that multiple themes are possible.

But I don't want the blog to lose its site speed too.

So, what would be the best themes that can give me the best page speed and is it a good decision too?

Hi. Page speed is dependent on the professionalism of the webmaster and not on the theme(WordPress)/template(Joomla). Work on the page speed begins with the first block added to the site. This is a very extensive subject.

Thanks for replying Pavel.

Okay, are there any resources about page speeding.

because there are a ton of resources for WordPress, but couldn't find any satisfying results for Joomla.

additionally, how would you rate ad network performance on Joomla sites. I personally don't think this would make any difference.

There are still differences out of the box. You can spend your own test using the clean installation of both CMS. And I think Joomla will win.

I also want to note the fact that several types of extensions are used in Joomla. Components, plugins, and modules.
In WordPress only one species is plugins.
The plugin works for the entire site and affects the speed even on those pages where it is not used.
The module is loaded only on those pages where you added it and does not affect the pages on which it is not used.
Many premium WordPress themes are much heavier for the speed thing than the Joomla premium templates. So as includes plugins as part of the theme.

WordPress code structure is heavier than in Joomla. And more difficult to develop.
The popularity of WordPress is due to a more friendly interface, for the first look of the novice.

Joomla is an order of magnitude more flexible system and much easier to develop.

Joomla for several years in a row takes the main prize, as the best free CMS. WordPress is not even present in this ranking. However, it is the most popular CMS among users.

I work with both CMS. And if my client has no requirement to use WordPress, I always offer Joomla.
