Migrating from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3 in late 2021
Hello,
Anybody knows how to migrate from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3 using com_joomlaupdate ?
After Joomla 4 release there is no way to do it like before, in the Joomla panel.
Maybe some code modification is required?

You can't update 4.0 from 2.5.x. You have to update to 3.10.x.
Take note of these resources for migrating 2.5.x to 3.x

Re: Migrating from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3 in late 2021
Hello,
Thanks for the answer. I don't want to migrate to J4, only to J3. BTW, we are in the forum section "Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x"
I saw both topics before and they don't answer to my question.
Anyone can help?

I'm not assuming you had read those instructions....but they *answer your question* about migrating J2.5 to 3.x..... .
But @per's answer is more on point.

Thanks for your answer, it helped indeed! Even we can install J3.6.5 for a beginning.

Wrong. J3.6.5 is not instalable. 3.4.8 is the latest version that is. Use 3.4.8, then the Updater will take you further up to 3.10.4.

OK, it was my friend who was testing it. I would try with 3.4.8, as you say.

Good question! For reasons that I cannot explain, the process outlined in the forum topic mentioned earlier—while basically correct in theory—does not appear to work today.
It's a good question and it's worth writing a thousand words that examine the various issues (and inevitable problems) that people will encounter along the way. Such an article is something I've had on my "to do" list for a quite a while based on my own experiences in updating clients' websites in recent times. However, if you would like a concise dot-point outline, in a hundred words or so, I suggest that you look at what I wrote here ==> viewtopic.php?t=981975&start=30#p3614117.
