Can not update from 3.5.1

Hello,

I have 3.5.1 joomla installation and I can not update it.
The reason is that the control panel tells me that I have already the latest version and it does not give me an option for update.

I don't know where to look for. Any help is appreciated.

MenuItem Extensions -> Manage -> Update Sites.
Check that the Joomla update sites are enabled.

I agree with @frostmakk: the reason you are not seeing newer versions of J! updates is because the J! CMS has been disabled in the Update Sites list. This is explained in viewtopic.php?t=977548#p3613863 and viewtopic.php?t=962228.

In addition to what @frostmakk wrote, you will not be able to update your J! website unless you modify the following PHP environmental settings:

Max. Upload Size: 32M (for people using J! 4, this value needs to be 64M)
Max. POST Size: 64M (for people using J! 4, this value should be higher than 64M, e.g. 128M)

Your current settings are too low to allow you to update your current version of J! unless you change them.

Folders are 775 ............. they should be 755
configuration.php is 775 ... it should be 444 other files should be 644

My updates urls are not disabled.
I have increment
upload_max_filesize = 64M
post_max_size = 64M

But still the same


Any other thoughts ?

As per your comments I checked the updates sites, I changed folder permission and post - upload sizes.
I did not changed Server suExec and cgi but I can not see how these two affect my situation. I post a renewed FPA

An update on this issue when I go to Joomla Update component and clear cache I get the following error:

Update: Could not open update site #1 "Joomla! Core", URL: http://update.joomla.org/core/list.xml

Can someone help me with this?

Your version of php is not supported by joomla 3.5.1, you need to role back your php version to 5.x.x then update joomla and then update your php to 7.4.x or even 8.0.x

I had the same problem with 5.x.x and I thought than because latest joomla version needs 7.3.x minimum I had to update my php.

An new update on the same subject.
I have downloaded the update packages from joomla site.
I extracted them in the root folder and the i "fix" database.
Right now I am on Joomla! 3.7.5.
In the update componet I get the message
"Update: Could not open update site #4 "Joomla! Update Component Update Site", URL: https://update.joomla.org/core/extensio ... update.xml"

Does this rings any bells?
