Copy Joomla 3 live website to wamp localhost

Hello together,

I'm trying to copy an old joomla 3.6.5 website using PHP 5.5 on a localhost (wamp64) in order to be able to update it safely.

I've followed the guide: https://docs.joomla.org/Copying_a_Joomla_website and I'm able to connect to the localhost backend.

Main issue is with frontend, where I'm able to see only the homepage, instead all the rest of pages show "404 Not Found".

I've removed .htaccess file from localhost www folder and deactivated in joomla SEF rewriting.

The Joomla folder should be in \www ... e.g. \wamp\myjoomlafolder. Browser should be pointed at localhost/myjoomlafolder

.htaccess can cause problems on localhost ... rename it bak.htaccess
Mod rewrite in global config should be no ... you can edit that in configuration.php

Database Host 127.0.0.1 or localhost
Database user: root
Database pass: there is no password

tmp and logs paths need to be altered.

Best use Akeeba to move the site https://docs.joomla.org/Copying_a_websi ... _Method.29
(hint after unpacking the backup you restore with A.N.G.I.E. the installer that is packed with the backup. The installation creates the database. Also click to override the tmp and logs paths).

The problem could be with the numerous versions of the sh404SEF plugin that the FPA results show also among the third party components. Uninstall all of those extensions.

Review all the third party extensions and check the latest versions from the developers' websites. Update those extensions that have a version compatible with Joomla 4 and uninstall those that don't.
