Fatal Error: Class 'JLog' not found - After updating Joomla to 3.8 from 3.7

Post by Diversal » Thu Jul 12, 2018 1:31 am

Hi Guys,

I need help ASAP. I've done a back up prior to updating. Did the back up. Got the white screen of death. Thankfully, I did a backup. HOWEVER when I restore the back up and access my site, I get this error message Fatal Error: Class 'JLog' not found...

People at GoDaddy unfortunately are not trained to use Joomla!!

And they have no clue.

Any suggestions?

I've seen a previous forum suggest finding the log.php in Library/Joomla/Log and replacing it, but I have no idea what this means- a step-by-step guide may help.

HELP PLEASE!

Which type of a backup did you restore? How did you restore it?

Updated to 3.8, site crashed, tried to restore a previous back up, white screen of death

- I have Joomla 3.7x, and did a backup of site via GoDaddy on the 10th, July 2018.
- I then updated Joomla to 3.8x.
- I got the white screen of death on both front end and back.
- Then I tried to Restore, and still white screen.
- I enabled turned on Php error reporting, and it said: Fatal error: Class 'JLog' not found in /home/diversal/public_html/libraries/legacy/error/error.php on line 371

I need help!

Hi
1. Please run viewtopic.php?f=714&t=793531 and post results.
2. Restore Joomla! files and database from backup to new empty folder and database.

I used a host-generated back via GoDaddy/cPanel

Then after restore using cPanel you have Joomla! in mixed state. You have to restore backup manually to empty folder and empty database. Please also post viewtopic.php?f=714&t=793531 results.
