update joomla from 3.9.5 to 3.9.23 Topic is solved

Hi
I try to update my joomla from 3.9.5 to 3.9.23.
I click the install the Update.
But there is no increase in update status.

Below is my FPA data. So please help and guide me to a success update.

Check the contents of the log file administrator/logs/joomla_update.php and post the relevant lines here for advice.

Please change the level of error reporting in System - Global Configuration - Server - Server Settings - Error Reporting to 'Maximum' and try to update again by downloading the update package from https://downloads.joomla.org/cms/joomla3/3-9-23 and going to Components - Joomla! Update - Upload & Update.

BTW, the size of the update package in .zip format is already 11.85MB and the maximum size in your server is limited to 12M. Both sizes should be at least 30M, keeping future upgrades in mind:

I'd also point out that PHP 7.1 and 7.2 are both End of Life.

Recommend you update your PHP if possible to 7.3 or 7.4 but keep in mind any 3P extensions that need updating (or find equivalents for) to run on those PHP versions.

Does your browser have an extension called MUA Web Unicode Converter? Disable or uninstall it and check if the update works better.

I try with other browser. But my "save" button do not work after changing Error Reporting to Maximum.

I'd also point out that PHP 7.1 and 7.2 are both End of Life.

Recommend you update your PHP if possible to 7.3 or 7.4 but keep in mind any 3P extensions that need updating (or find equivalents for) to run on those PHP versions.

I update my phpversion 7.4 but can not update from joomla 3.9.5 to joomla 3.9.24.

Did you change the level of error reporting in Global Configuration to 'None'? Otherwise Joomla 3.9.5 reports numerous Deprecated and Strict messages.

If the update to 3.9.24 does not finish, something must be wrong in 3.9.5. Maybe a previous update did not complete either.

Make sure that the level of error reporting is 'None'. Download the 3.9.5 update package from https://downloads.joomla.org/cms/joomla3/3-9-5 and run the update. Joomla should then display the availability of 3.9.24, then run the update.

Yes. your advice may be right.
My 3.9.5 version have some error.
So I config error report to none in configuration.php.
I download Joomla_3.9.5-Stable-Update_Package and Joomla_3.9.x_to_3.9.5-Stable-Patch_Package.
And then upload in tmp folder, unzip and update "install from Folder".
But the following error appear.

Error
Path does not have a valid package.
Unable to find install package

And then I try from "Upload Package File" and upload update zip.
But it does not work.

I upload manual extract files 3.9.5 like as the below link. After success upload files, but I can not update to 3.9.24.

That link above is about an entirely different joomla version and obsolete information.....Copying the files from the new version is half the job. You need to update the database too.

(and judging by the previous discussion, are you trying to update Joomla through Extension Manager? That is not the process and has not been done that way since Joomla 2.5 or very early 3.x.)

There is no Upload & Update tab in my Components-Joomla! Update.

The missing Upload & Update tab means that a previous version update has not worked, probably because it was done "manually" when Components - Joomla! Update should have been used.

The Joomla! Update page in Joomla 3.9.5 has the Upload & Update tab, as shown below. The Live Update option in 3.9.5 updated the site to 3.9.24 without problems, using PHP 7.2.34 with the level of error reporting set to 'Maximum'.

Hi All,

I can click save button in my global configuration by config my isis administrator template by adding
JHtml::_('behavior.framework', true);
Just after :
JHtml::_('bootstrap.framework');

And then after that I can upgrade my 3.9.5 to 3.9.24.
