Upgrade to 3.9.24 fails - Could not open archive part file

Post by SteveXY » Fri Jan 15, 2021 2:44 am

Hi. I have tried multiple times to upgrade from 3.9.23 to 3.9.24 on my remote site. The options I have chosen are: Using Live Update - Install the Update - Write files directly
I get:

Joomla\CMS\Filesystem\Folder::create: Path not in open_basedir paths.
File Checksum Failed

Could not open archive part file testamg.flavourofnz.co.nz/tmp/Joomla_3.9.24-Stable-Update_Package.zip for reading. Check that the file exists, is readable by the web server and is not in a directory made out of reach by chroot, open_basedir restrictions or any other restriction put in place by your host.

My web host assures me that it's not a problem that the install is a zip file. Any help welcome.

These may partly explain the (technical) 'why' such errors occur and offer 'how' to implement a solution.

https://docs.joomla.org/Why_can%27t_you ... ensions%3F

https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/arti ... -part-file

The advice is general in nature, and may not resolve your specific problem.
