Missing Pre-Update Check Topic is solved

I upgraded to 3.10 and saw the Pre-Update Check tab on Joomla Update and started contacting companies for extensions that are not ready.

Now I went to 3.10.1 today and I no longer see the Pre-Update Check tab. How can I get it to show up again?

Hi, you must change your update channel to Joomla Next so you can see the Pre update check.
Component -> Joomla Update -> Options -> Update Channel: Joomla Next

It will also show on J3.10.1 using the “default” update channel when updates are available

To everyone posting on here:

The "Joomla Next" update channel will report the availability of Joomla 4.0.x and extensions; useful for seeing which of your extensions are ready for J4 and which are not, but please be completely sure that all your extensions are compatible before hitting the "Update" button

Remember to set the channel back to "default" after you've seen what's what! Leaving it on "Joomla next" means that the checker will run each time you have something to update.

In Joomla 3.10.x, using the "Default" channel, the Update pre-checker will show when there are J3-series updates available. If it doesn't show and there are no updates available then this is expected behaviour.

J 3.10.2 - on Joomla Next in update component.

However, Pre-Update check does not show on the tab bar.

Is there any way I can reinstate it?

On J 3.10.6, i have the same problem than drjadewar

--> the "Pre-Update check" tab doesn't appear ....
(I'm on channel "next joomla", and it only propose me two tabs: "direct update", and "transfert and update" ...

Any input?

The "Pre-Update check" will only show with an update to 4.x

A reason for not showing up may be that the hosting server does not have the technical requirements for J4.

In the Joomla 3.x to 4.x Step by Step Migration document steps I am at:
5. You will then see your Installed Joomla Version, the latest Joomla! version and the URL for the update package. Joomla will show you the requirements again for Joomla 4. If it flags that you have either an incompatible system or extensions it will tell you here.
Nothing showing and I definitely have "Joomla Next"
Two things I see here on this subject are: (1) "Joomla Core" If I need to access this how do I? (2)
Ability of my host to sort Joomla 4
A third option I saw in researching, seemed to talk about Administer permission
Does it matter that to fix JCE Editor, I had to return PHP to 8.0.x from 8.1.x?

Thanks Wootah: I finally found Joomla Core and enabled.
Checked for updates and Joomla 3.10.12 available so updated
Checked for updates again and Pre-Update checkup displayed.
