JCE reverts language to English

Post by seanos » Sun Mar 10, 2019 8:51 am

I would post this on the JCE Forum, but you need to be a subscriber. Not sure if this is the right sub-forum here either but…

Multi-lingual site in Irish and English. Default language is Irish, my browser requests Irish, my user setting is Irish. I start on the home page (in Irish) and edit an article using JCE; when I close (save or cancel) the site language is changed to English.

This only happens with JCE. Also tested ArkEditor, TinyMCE, Code Mirror.

Any ideas how I can figure out why this happening?

Send it as a bug report to jce? They have an email address.

It’s nice to know they have an e-mail address. It’d be nicer to know what it is.

Is there a Irish Language Pack for JCE?

Have you looked in Transifex for one?

I don't experience this, but there is a Norwegian translation of the JCE Editor.

I did wonder if that might be part of it, but the only editor that does have a translation is TinyMCE. I’ll try creating the files (since I doubt there’s a translation) tomorrow (late here).

It's on their site in the menu called contact. More precisely it is a contact form https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/contact

Copying /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_jce.ini to /language/ga-IE/ga-IE.com_jce.ini did fix the problem.

As I suspected there is no Irish translation at Transifex and I’m not super-keen to do the work for free for a commercial product.

I will report it on their web form, which is in fact not an e-mail address.

JCE is ALSO proposing a free version... and language packs are available to all.

That doesn’t magically make it take less time to do or make the many other translations I’m involved in disappear. ;-)
